For anglers, LakeOuachita is well-known for its prolific fishing opportunities, especially for striped bass and largemouth bass fishing. It consistently ranks in the top 10 nationally for largemouth bass fishing. Lake Ouachita is known for hosting major national bass and striped bass tournaments regularly.

Mark Davis, 1995, 1998, 2001 B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year and Bass Master Classic Winner, spends a great deal of time on the lake.

Scott Suggs, winner of the 2007 Forrest Wood Cup Tournament, also spends a lot of time on Lake Ouachita.

Did you know that Lake Ouachita also features trout fishing during the colder months? The Game and Fish Commission has started stocking rainbow trout below Lake Ouachita, Lake Hamilton and Lake Greeson. These stockings will last through March of 2010 and occur every two weeks.
